A GREAT ACT OF WAR; A GREATER ACT OF LOVE.

In five days the Blue Riband winner for fastest Atlantic crossing, the magnificent, Lusitania, sails for Liverpool, England.

Lily Marshall’s greatest fear is water. She has a recurring dream of being sucked into the depths of the ocean and drowned. One evening, to her horror, her father, Walter Marshall, triumphantly swaggers home with two tickets to England on board the massive ship. He is determined Lily must accompany him as his accomplice to execute a devious con to make their fortune.

Edward James has made the decision to leave New York and follow his dream to be a musician. His family will do anything to force him to take his rightful place in the family shipbuilding business. Even to the extent of forcing a marriage between Edward and Lavinia Armitage, the daughter of his father’s business partner. To bring about the union, Lavinia is to accompany her parents and Edward’s uncle on the voyage.

Somehow Edward becomes entangled in Walter’s scheme to force a terrified Lily onto the ship. He must then examine his confusing feelings for this outspoken, intriguing and mysterious woman. So begins a love story hindered by class, time and promises: Edward’s to marry Lavinia and Lily’s to steal from the man she loves.

But the countdown has begun towards one of the greatest shipping tragedies in history.
